Greetings Kennedy Middle School Families,

School begins soon and it is exciting to be welcoming you to the Kennedy Middle School 2025-26 school year!

As the principal at Kennedy, it is my honor to be serving our community and welcoming our students to another school year.  I’m excited to be on this journey with you and look forward to partnering with you on our core values of PositivityRespectIntegrityDiscipline, and Excellence.

Hopefully by now you’ve received a packet of information from our school and have begun to plan the start of the school year for your child.  In this first newsletter, I’d like to share a few upcoming events and activities and provide some details on our first week of school.

Please know that this newsletter will be emailed to you every Friday for the duration of the school year and if at any point you have questions or concerns, please email me or call the school.

Sincerely,

--

Important Information

  • Cell Phone and Technology Policy

Phones and all technology are off-and-away during school hours and kept in a student’s locker at all times.  We know there will be circumstances that may require a student to have access to a phone or noise cancelling headphones, and we can work with families individually on that as needed.  Otherwise, the expectation is that phones and technology are off-and-away and in lockers during school hours.

  • Attendance

Attendance is a critical component to the success of our students.  Being at school on time and regularly leads to more positive outcomes both socially and academically at school.  We are implementing a systems approach to attendance this year to help students be accountable for tardies and absences.  I’ve attached a brief outline of our attendance outcomes as well as some interesting facts about school attendance.

  • Supplies for School

Please see the list of supplies below to get prepared for school.  If you cannot get supplies for your child, please call the main office and we will work with you to get what your child needs.  Our school supplies are listed on our website as well and please see below for a flyer for Project Hope - tickets are available on a first come first serve basis.

During school hours, students will house their backpack in their locker and will only need to carry their binder from class to class.
